Shopify Partner connection setup
This guide walks you through creating a Partner API client and connecting your Partner organization to LinkyFlow, so you can load your transactions and your apps' events in Excel or in the web app. Partner data is about your apps and your earnings: it is not any store's admin data.
Requirements
- A Shopify Partner organization, with the App development organization permission and the Manage financials partner permission
- A confirmed business email for the organization
Step 1 — Create a Partner API client and copy its token
- In the Dev Dashboard, click Organization settings, then Users, then Security.
- In the Partner API clients section, click Add Partner API client and give it a name (for example
LinkyFlow). - Select its permissions. View financials opens the transactions and cancelling a subscription. Manage apps opens the apps, the events and the active subscriptions. Manage themes only adds the name of a theme to its sales. LinkyFlow uses the ones you give.
- Click Add client, then copy the access token. You cannot view it again after you leave the page.
Step 2 — Find your partner ID
Your partner ID is the number in your Partner Dashboard URL: https://partners.shopify.com/1234567. The number in your Dev Dashboard URL is your organization ID: do not use it here.
Step 3 — Add the connection in LinkyFlow
- In Excel or the web app, open Connections → Add connection.
- Choose Shopify Partner from the provider list.
- Paste the Partner ID (digits only) and the Access Token.
- Save. Unless you typed an alias yourself, the connection is named after your partner ID.
When the connection is saved or synced, LinkyFlow checks the token with one cheap read of the transactions and one of the events. If Shopify refuses the token, the connection asks you to reconnect with a valid one; if no organization answers at the partner ID, it asks you to correct it. A permission the client lacks is shown as not granted while the others keep working, and only the reads that need it are refused. Manage themes cannot be checked by a read, so it is shown as unknown.
Step 4 — Load your first query
- Insert a LinkyFlow query and pick the Shopify Partner provider.
- Choose Transactions or Events, select your connection in the Link field, and run it.
- Use First (up to 100) and the arrows to page through results, or pick All results to read every page.
Rotating the token
In the Dev Dashboard, select the client, click Rotate, then Generate new token. The old token keeps working until you revoke it, so paste the new one in the connection first, then click Revoke old token.
LinkyFlow keeps the access token server-side: it is never shown again, and never sent to an AI assistant.
